What is Richmond Water?
The average American consumes 167 plastic bottles of water a year.
We can put a stop to that.
Our sustainable, collectible cans come filled with water from a local artesian aquifer.
Bottled by Virginia Artesian Bottling, in Hanover County in a facility powered 100% by solar energy, our cans are collectible, refillable, and recyclable at the end of their life.
Each can has the potential to replace as many as 10 plastic bottles - maybe more if you #LoveYourCan. We're actively working on ways to make these cans go even further, too.
The Brand
The brand for this project was designed by Xponent21 Creative Director Nikki Peters, and incorporates a font from well-known local creative Noah Scalin, and the limited-edition debut cans (25,000 cans per design) feature art from celebrated Richmond muralist Hamilton Glass.
Richmond Water is sold directly to consumers online, at festivals, farmers markets, and breweries, in select locally-owned markets, and in bulk to select RVA brand ambassadors.
The Impact
$.50 from each can will be donated to a nonprofit which rotates with the art featured on the can. Our debut nonprofit beneficiary is Mending Walls RVA.
Customers who buy online from DrinkRichmondWater.com will be granted a vote on future artists and nonprofit beneficiaries.
